I’m Marc Mendes, an illustrator and designer based in the icy brownstones of Portland Maine. My passion for nature often dictates the themes in my artwork, where I do my best to work on projects that showcase my love of wildlife and the great outdoors. Together with my partner Bird Warde, I run an online shop called Camp Mustelid, creating all manner of goodies that reflect a naturalist’s interests. I wear a few hats for Camp Mustelid including designer, writer, media manager, video editor, and occasional instructor. The most fun I have is coming up with concepts for apparel or stationary collections when I just let my imagination run wild.

Out of the office you can find me hiking around National Parks looking at birds and blabbing about old trees, especially if there are any redwoods around. My favorite places are nature centers and local book stores. At home I listen to a lot of vinyl records and have what I consider to be an impressive collection of Portuguese albums. Equally as impressive is my gigantic log cabin I‘ve built in Minecraft.
